Community Service

District Attorney Lemuel Martinez thrives on helping the community in many ways.  His offices are involved in the community by sponsoring blood drives, raising money for breast cancer, holding bake sales to raise money for domestic violence awareness, holding annual food drives during the Thanksgiving season, Toy Drive for UNM Children’s Hospital and speaking about crime prevention at different organizations and schools.

The annual sock drive and coat drive is held throughout the year and all donations are given to local schools and homeless shelters throughout the district. Providing some warmth to community members is a project that started in 2002. Over the years the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office has donated more than 9000 coats and over 5000 socks and blankets. In 2016 a new project was introduced The School Supply Drive.  This drive will collect back packs and school supplies for the youngest members of the community.
